Description
The Snom D862 is a D8 series IP phone with a 5-inch color display at 1280 x 720 resolution, which shows calls, menus and the assignment of the 8 programmable keys with great sharpness. Four function keys complete the keypad. It registers up to 8 SIP accounts and holds a 10,000-contact phonebook, enough to cover the directory of an entire company. For connectivity, two Gigabit Ethernet ports chain the computer, a USB A port takes a headset or a dongle, and an RJ12 connector accepts an EHS module to answer calls from a wireless headset. Power comes from PoE 802.3af or from a 5 V / 2 A power adapter sold separately, for a 10 W consumption, and management goes through the web interface. The D8 expansion module and the Snom A100 and A310 headsets are offered as accessories.

Use and tips
The D862 is aimed at executive and assistant desks and at users who spend the day on the phone: the large high-resolution display and the 8 programmable keys make monitoring and transfers quick, and the EHS connector lets you answer from a wireless headset. The 10,000-contact phonebook holds the company's full directory. On a PoE switch, no power adapter is needed; otherwise plan the 5 V / 2 A power supply sold separately. For Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 12 SIP accounts and 10 keys, see the D865.
