Description
The Snom D717 in a white finish is a D7 series IP phone for everyday workstations. It registers up to 6 SIP accounts and offers 3 programmable keys with LED whose labels appear on the screen, with no paper labels. The 2.7-inch (6.9 cm) color LCD adjusts its brightness automatically through a built-in sensor, and the local phonebook holds 1,000 names and numbers. The G.711, G.729AB, G.722, G.726 and GSM 6.10 codecs deliver HD voice or bandwidth savings depending on the link. Two Gigabit RJ45 ports with PoE 802.3af class 3 let you chain the computer and power the phone over the network; a power adapter, not included, remains possible. The USB port takes a USB headset or an RT2070 / RT3070 Wi-Fi dongle, the handset plugs in via RJ9 and a wired headset via RJ11. The stand tilts to 46 or 28 degrees, the D7 expansion module adds keys, and management goes through the web interface.

Use and tips
The white D717 suits individual offices, administrative desks and open spaces that want a color display readable in any light and a USB port for a headset or a Wi-Fi link. Six SIP accounts gather several lines or departments on one phone. On a PoE switch, no power adapter is needed; otherwise plan a power supply sold separately. Plug in a Snom A100 headset over USB or an A310 on the headset jack. For a reception desk that monitors many lines, add the 7xx series key expansion module, offered in black or white to match the phone.
