Description
The WP822 is a Grandstream cordless Wi-Fi IP phone running Android 7.0, designed for users who move around all day. It registers two SIP accounts on two lines and presents calls on a 2.4-inch color LCD (240 x 320 pixels). Dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, with an advanced antenna and roaming, keeps the conversation going from one access point to the next. HD voice combines two microphones, echo cancellation and Noise Shield technology, with the Opus, G.722, G.711, G.729A/B and iLBC codecs. Bluetooth 4.2 connects a wireless headset, the 3.5 mm jack a wired one, and the micro USB port handles charging. The accelerometer and the configurable key support push-to-talk, panic and related functions for lone staff. The 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery lasts 8 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby.

Use and tips
The WP822 suits teams that move through Wi-Fi covered buildings and want a full-day handset: hotel reception, shop, warehouse, maintenance, security rounds. The key configurable as a panic button and the accelerometer give a first level of protection to people working alone. The phone registers on the IP PBX as a SIP extension and pairs with a Bluetooth headset to keep hands free. Check 5 GHz Wi-Fi coverage along the whole route. For the same phone in a rugged IP67 version, see the WP825; for Wi-Fi 6, the WP826.
